Conversations On Coaching 2

After our well received “Conversations On Coaching” where we talked about the reasons people come to coaching, fellow coach Kate Wallace and I decided to mark International Stress Awareness Week with a discussion on the role that coaching can play in helping clients deal with stress.

And we have expanded our conversation circle by being joined by another fellow Henley Business School alumna and coach, Tatiana Hollier.

We discuss some of the client issues that present as stress, from dealing with the frenetic pace arising from ever increasing change, complexity and challenge in the workplace and life in general; to losing sight of what really matters, our north star and feeling lost or stuck as result.

Coaching gives our clients the time and space to disentangle from their immediate issues, gain perspective and explore new futures in a safe space. This helps them make better decisions.

We also discuss some tips about how to deal with stress. We talk, for example, about ‘the power of the pause’ and how movement, perhaps going for a walk (without a mobile phone) or standing up to shake off the pressure, can all help reduce stress.
